I recently separated from my husband in october. a domestic violence case with a restraining order against him. how do I file? there is no contact with him.

You would file separately. Since you are not divorced, you can't file single. If you had separated the last six months of the year and had a child who lived with you, you might have been Head of Household. Unfortunately, married filing joint or separately are your only choices.
