Question

I saw my file and when I updated the Turbo Tax my partially completed tax file is now gone and an empty one is in place HELP

    Please confirm that you are using desktop software (CD/download), and did not accidentally log into Online TurboTax by mistake. 

     

    If  using desktop software, had you previously saved the file while working on it?   Search your entire computer system for any file ending in *.tax2018 file extension.   Also look in the  Recycle Bin.

     

    If you are using Windows and have multiple user accounts, also log into each Windows user account to do the searches.

     

    In  Windows, the default file location is the Documents\TurboTax folder, but it could have been saved elsewhere.
