Question

I selected my tax payment date as April 8, and it paid my State taxes owed then, but it never withdrew my Federal taxes owed. Do I need to do something to fix that?

You just need to wait, the IRS probably has not processed your return yet. Even after it gets accepted, it may take some days or weeks for it to be processed and until then your bank account will not be debited.
