I sent quarterly estimated payments to the IRS during 2017 based on my 2016 income: do I need to manually enter these payments into turbotax?

I'm mainly curious how I get credit for the money i've already sent in to the IRS and make sure i'm not paying more than I should for 2017.

To enter your quarterly estimated payments into TurboTax,

  • In your open Federal return, choose the tab Deductions & Credits
  • Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and Show more
  • Choose Estimated Tax Payments and Start/Revisit
  • The next screen will allow you to enter your various estimated tax payments, including Federal, State and Local payments.
