Question

I started entering with Deluxe and changed to Basic when I saw the standard deduction was better. However, the amount I owe is now more. Why?

I didn't write it down but in the Deluxe it showed around $1842 for Federal and now it's $1992.

This doesn't make sense - the Standard Deduction is the same for every version of TurboTax. It varies only by your filing status, your age, and whether or not you or your spouse is blind.

What you are going to have to do is compare the numbers that you entered in Deluxe to the ones in Basic. We in the Community cannot see your private tax data, so we have no way of knowing what you entered or why the results are different.
