I started my tax return on the website but ended up buying the software at Costco. I downloaded and signed in but my info didnt carry over. Is this possible?

Found these notes.

Click on Add a State to let you back into your return.

From Tax Home (the first screen you see after you sign in), scroll down to Your tax returns & documents. You may have to select Show to open the drop down.

Select 2021, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this is just the workaround).

Yes! Did you get the download installed and Activated with the License Code?

You can move your Online file to the Desktop program and continue without paying for Online or needing to reenter your info.

How do I save my TurboTax Online return as a tax data file?

After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return .tax file is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW).

This is exactly what I need to do but I am having trouble finding tax tools! Only option I see on the site is tax home and documents ?

When you signed back in didn't it ask you to Continue? Can you find Add A State somewhere? That will let you in. Or maybe you are in the wrong account.

That's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used
