I SUBMITTED MY TAX RETURNS VIA E-FILE.. MUST I HAVE AN IDENTITY PROTECTION PIN FOR MY TAX RETURNS TO BE ACCEPTED?.. I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE this IP PIN

The person on your tax return that needs the 6-digit PIN should have received a CP01A letter from the IRS with the PIN.  If no one on your tax return received a letter, go on the IRS website Retrieve Your Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) for instructions for a replacement.

Not everyone gets an IP PIN so if you don't have one you don't have to enter a PIN that does not exist.
