I switched to the self employed version but don't want to lose all my data and start over by down grading to deluxe. Can I submit the return anyway?

The Self Employed version can be used for any Personal tax return that TurboTax supports. You can submit a tax return with it whether you need all of its features or not. You just have to pay more for it.
