Question

I think that there is an error in the Louisiana state tax software. Where it is supposed to pull the AGI from my federal return, it is using a different value...?

Line 7 of the LA form IT540 can come from one of two places:

 

1) from line 8b of the Federal form 1040

OR

2)  from line 5C of the LA Schedule E

 

The #2 number above may be what you are seeing...you can see what is included in the Schedule E by scrolling down to that form in the link below  (or..save a PDF of your current tax return to see what's on it right now):
