I thought my mom was claiming me this year, so i put down dependent. Turns out she cant claim me. Can I get my stimulus check still? Even if i got my tax return?

If you indicated on your tax return that you can be claimed as a dependent by someone else, you will not receive the stimulus payments.

If in fact your mom cannot claim you as her dependent, you'll have to amend your 2020 tax return to restate that you cannot be claimed as a dependent. On the amended tax return, you'll indicate that you did not receive your 2 stimulus payments and claim the Recovery Rebate credit.

Please be aware that Form 1040X will not be available in TurboTax until March 25, 2021, but once it is available, you will be able to prepare and e-file your amended return.
