Question

I used FFCRA days when caring for my child whose school was closed due to covid. It's not listed on my W-2 do I check the box for paid family leave? This was paid leave.

I used FFCRA days plus accumulated sick hours to receive my full pay check for those weeks that I was not able to work due to no childcare. My W-2 does not show this. I do have an amount in box 14 but it's only for my retirement plan. Do I need to bother checking the Paid family leave box if it's not on my w-2?

You should not check the paid family leave box on your W-2 form. Form W-2 information should always be entered in TurboTax exactly the way it appears on the form.

Your FFCRA benefits are taxable, as is sick leave, so the amount you received should be included in box 1 as wages. There may be an entry in box 14 for information purposes, but it would not affect the taxability of the income on your federal tax return.

State tax rules vary by state, but if there was an adjustment needed on your state tax return, you would see questions related to that when you enter your state tax information.
