Solved

I usually file form 1040A. The only difference this year is a solar credit and possible carry forward. Should I use form 1040A this year?

Whether you use a Form 1040EZ, Form 1040A or the full 1040, the tax code and tax regulations are the same.

The TurboTax program will select the correct tax return for you based on your tax data entries into the program.  If you have a Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit or carryforward of that credit then you must use the Form 1040.

If you are using the TurboTax online editions then you will need the Deluxe edition or higher.
