Question

I've already chosen to file fed and state together. I was wanting to know how do I go back file separately.

You can go back through the filing questions and separate the returns. You can delete the State return or you can just file the Federal for now and leave the State for later.

Generally, you must file the Federal first. You can file the State return later. Keep in mind that you will have to pay for the returns separately as well. Also, if you are paying for the returns with your refund, you can still do that for the Federal but not for the State.
