I've already submitted my taxes. I forgot to entered our estimated state quarterly tax payments. What do I do?

If you paid 2024 state quarterly payments and did not include them on your 2024 return the state will recognize that and adjust your tax liability. Wait to hear from them. 

Sometimes, the State will correct your return (because they have records of your payments) and automatically refund them to you.

If not, you should amend your state return.

You enter your state estimated tax payments in the Federal section and they will flow through to your state return.

In TurboTax Online, you can enter the state estimated taxes you paid by following these steps:

1. Open your tax return
2. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then Deductions & Credits
3. Navigate to the list of Deductions & Credits
4. Locate the section named Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and click on the arrow on the right 
5. Click on Start next to Estimated Tax Payments
6. On the next page, click Start next to State estimated taxes for 2024.
