You can file as married-separate if you want to receive your stimulus money in your name only.

However, you may pay more tax that way as the rates may be higher and you may loose out on some credits. You may want to try it both ways to see what is the difference.

When you enter your personal information in TurboTax, you will be asked if are married and also if you want to file your tax return with your spouse, to which you can answer "no" if you want to file as married-separate.
