I want do delete the Job Expenses for W-2 Income and I have gone back and hit delete, but the amount stays in there, how do I delete amount under Job expenses for w2?

First, the deduction for job related expenses has been suspended for tax years 2018-2025.  Any entries there will not affect the calculations on your federal return. The form is not transmitted to the IRS.

 

If your state is one of the few that does not follow the federal law for this deduction, then it may affect the state return.  However, in the state return interview you will have the opportunity to edit those entries.  

 

If you need to and have been unable to delete the entries in the "Employment Expenses" topic under the "Deductions & Credits" tab you can use the delete a form option in TurboTax online.

  1. Click "Tax Tools" in the left hand menu
  2. Click "Tools"
  3. Click "Delete a Form"
  4. Find the form 2106 in the federal section and the state section
  5. "Delete" each
  6. "Confirm Deletion" for each
