You can file an extension for your 2021 taxes (filed in 2022) online with the IRS or through TurboTax. An extension only extends the time you have to file your return (gives you to October 15th), any taxes owed must be paid by April 18th, tonight by midnight to avoid a penalty and interest.

An extension gives you until October 17, 2022 to file your taxes instead of the tax deadline (April 18, 2022). This does not give you more time to pay your taxes (if you owe), which are due on April 18.

This helps great, the answer helps with the "file extension" for an "individual".
