Question

I want Turbotax Business for Mac

I want TURBOTAX Business for MAC 2014.

Why isn't this available for MAC if all your other products cross both platforms. I've used Quickbooks for years and now when I am hoping to integrate all my business accounting and tax needs into one neat package, Intuit falls short.

Is it available but only for download?

Please advise.

Thank you.

    • UPDATED DEC. 2018 from  January 2013 NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN YEARS!

Hey, Look guys/gals co-MAC users - I'm just a volunteer here so if you don't like the factual answer, your best choice is call Intuit or write and complain. Calling me names does nothing

When Apple introduced Lion and eliminated the direct function calls in to the O/S, the TurboTax BUSINESS product ceased to be compatible.  They've never chosen to spend the funds on rewriting the product, nor have they made the product available online as an alternative.

Perhaps it is simply their assessment of the size of the market - MAC users.

So, the answer is the corporation Intuit says:  "NO MAC support for TurboTax Business."  - their call - not users decision!

      BEST ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION.

TurboTax Business, when combined with a companion state-level business income tax form component for TurboTax costs somewhere around $120 (Target, Costco with coupon) plus state $60 (must from Intuit) - lowest total online $180.  So, today you can purchase a cheap new Windows/10 based pc solely for the purpose of running TurboTax Business now and next year and that notebook will cost less!

Search results in decent notebooks from $125 and up

      ==============================================================

The alternative is to run the Windows-based product in one or another form of emulation or in a virtual machine
SEE BELOW FOR RUNNING VIRTUAL WINDOWS ON MAC.

Sorry for not being able to give a positive response.

For those who want to express their dissatisfaction with the situation, the place to file you complaint is directly with Intuit or in public media.

      •  Posting a rant here?  Well it's only us other users here for the most part so a rant here may feel good but does nothing to move forward the production of a solution.

Yeah, the Virtual Machine software is free, but a Windows license will cost you more than the TurboTax software.

Virtual platform is a nightmare on MAC.  It's a shame that the small business taxes is not available on MAC.  It says Mac on the requirements, but when you go to buy it only shows Windows.

FROM TWO YEARS AGO RELATIVE TO HOME&BUSINESS !!!! NOT BUSINESS!

The download url/link page for Home&Business is the same for MAC OS and also Windows/PC

    https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/home-and-business.jsp

However, as said before, you can find it for at least $10 cheaper in stores and elsewhere online

if you are angry at Intuit for lack of MAC support, please contact Intuit directly.  We're just users ourselves here.

As a relatively new business owner, I have to say that Intuit has been so disappointing.  I started as a sole proprietor using Quickbooks Self-Employed Online on Mac OS, bought the TurboTax package which seamlessly integrated with Self-Employed and filed my taxes no problem.

At the beginning of this year,  I upgrade to Quickbooks Online Simple Start where I discovered that Intuit does not offer any seamless integrated way to transfer data between it's own Quickbook application versions...so I had to manually download and import transactions, mileage etc... into Quickbooks Online.  Very nice.

My wife and I got married this year and formed an LLC that we both operate as a partnership.

Now tax-time arrives and I'm discovering a few other highly frustrating things about Inuit's products.  First, there is NO INTEGRATION between it's more expensive, advanced Quickbooks Online products and TurboTax (which Intuit also owns).  What I'm being told is that you can PURCHASE Quickbooks Desktop version, import your data from Quickbooks Online and then buy a TurboTax for Business version of software to file your taxes......BUT......there is no Turbotax for Business version that runs on a MAC.

What the hell.  So my only chose is to buy a Windows OS license, borrow or buy a PC or have another tax professional file my taxes.  This really sucks, Intuit.

The possibility of a MAC version arose when Intuit still owned Quicken and hired as a senior developer someone from Apple, specifically to improve Quicken for MAC.  Nothing was done to address TurboTax Business for MAC platform.  Then Intuit sold off Quicken which pretty much killed any future possibility of support.   I  doubt that anyone is going to change the current Intuit management to change their minds, customer complaints not withstanding.

Intuit used to have TurboTax Business for Mac, please bring this back for Apple OS X! Apple has become the most successful company in the world.  Time to bring back this product to the Mac platform!
