Question

I was wondering if the $150 fees for turbo tax that they took out of of my tax return gets refunded back to me or not? I heard there were no fees for military members, am I correct or do I have to pay

Yes, active duty enlisted military service members and reservists get to use TurboTax Online products for free. But some restrictions apply: TurboTax military

Usually, the discount is automatically applied when indicating that you are military:

  • The first is in the "My Info" section after you enter your name and occupation. You can click on "My Info" on the left and then click on "Edit" next to your name.
  • The second is on the "Do any of these uncommon situations apply to this W-2?" screen, right after you enter your W-2, you can check the active-duty military box for the W-2.

Please see this link on how to contact TurboTax directly for further questions:  What is the TurboTax phone number?
