I went from having employer health insurance to health insurance through the exchange due to job change. How do I note this on my taxes?

I participated in my employer plan options until August, at which point I switched to Covered California (thanks to a covid layoff). I will have a 1095A and 1095C. How should I answer questions to reflect this?

You do not need the 1095-C, just put it in your tax file.

You will have to enter your 1095-A. In the Search field (upper right), enter ACA and then click on the jump-to result.

Then when you are asked if you had ACA insurance or Marketplace insurance or had a 1095-A (however it asks this in 2020), reply "yes", and you will be invited to enter the data from the form.

Do not worry that you did not have it all year; the data on the form will show TurboTax this (which is why you don't need to worry about the 1095-C).
