Question

I will be traveling to/from seasonal jobs this year. If I fill out W-2s at these jobs, Would I be able to deduct my travel expenses on my tax return next year?

No.   Job-related expenses and travel to and from work are not deductible on a federal return for W-2 employees.

I stumbled upon this old thread and thought I'd chime in. So, when it comes to claiming travel expenses on your tax return, you won't find it on your W-2 form. Instead you'll wanna check out the Schedule A.

No. As an employee, you cannot deduct travel expenses between your jobs.

Instead you'll wanna check out the Schedule A. That's where you can deduct things like unreimbursed employee expenses, including travel costs. Just remember to keep all those pesky receipts and any other important paperwork. And I hope you ticked off that [Link removed] eventually. LMK.
