I work for my Mother doing Home care. How do I report this income?

That depends on who is paying you and if you are doing it as a business.

If you are not doing it as a business the income you receive as a caregiver for a family member is taxable income, but it is not subject to self-employment tax.  

 

You should report the income on schedule 1 line 8 of Form 1040.  

  1. Just type Other reportable income into the search box and select Jump to Other reportable income.
  2. Say no to the Other Wages Received question
  3. Then select Other reportable income.

Report the income there. It will appear on schedule 1 line 8 of Form 1040.
