Yes. In fact, you must file as married in California. Every state recognizes marriages performed in any other state.

You have to be married by the end of the year in order to file as married for that year. To file as married for 2016, you have to be married no later than December 31, 2016. In most cases, your marital status on December 31 determines your filing status for that year.
