If EIN number is for a difference company than on W2, what to do?

The IRS won't let you e-file if the EIN doesn't match their records. 

  • Contact your employer to get the correct EIN. 
  • Correct the information in TurboTax and re-transmit your return.
  • Ask your employer to send you a corrected W-2 for your records.
