If both of your W-2's have the same federal tax identification number, it is likely that your W-2 was corrected. You'll get a corrected W-2 from your employer if they made a mistake on your original W-2 and need to give you corrected information. If you're not sure if you have a corrected W-2, take a look at the bottom of your W-2. If it’s corrected, it should say Form W-2c, Corrected Wage and Tax Statement. If it doesn't say this at the bottom, you may have a second type of corrected W-2c that has a box at the top marked corrected. This box does not appear on standard (original) W-2s.

If the W-2 is corrected, you can follow these steps in TurboTax:

  1. Open your tax return.
  2. Search for W-2 with the magnifying glass tool on the top of the page.
  3. Select the Jump to W-2 link at the top of the search results.
  4. Select the trash can icon next to your original W-2 to remove it.
  5. Click on Add a W-2.
  6. Enter your corrected W-2 information.
  7. Continue to the screen Let's check for uncommon situations and select W-2 was corrected by my employer.

It is not uncommon for a business to provide two W-2s if there is not enough room on one form to include all of the information.  Often this occurs because of box 12, or for multiple states.

It sounds like all you have to do is continue to post the second W-2 onto the first.

Treat it and enter it "AS IF" all the information is on one Single W-2.
