Question

If I add a child dependent to my 2020 tax return, how do I get credited for the first and second round of stimulus checks the child should be eligible for?

I've read I should receive stimulus for a child born in 2020 so long as I was eligible for them. I was eligible for the 1st and 2nd round but it currently does not appear I will be credited for the amount my child should be eligible for after adding him to my tax return.

At the beginning of the Federal Review, TurboTax will ask how much you received for each stimulus payment. If you didn't get the full amount that you are entitled to based on your 2020 tax return, TurboTax will give you the recovery rebate credit for the additional amount. The credit will appear on Form 1040 line 30.

You can also get to the question by typing "stimulus" (without the quotes) in the Search box, then clicking the link that says "Jump to stimulus."
