The state does not care how old you are.  If you earned enough money to have a state tax liability and did not have enough withheld from your pay, it is possible to owe. 

However, make sure you entered everything correctly.  Information flows from the federal return to the state return.  

Check what you entered from your W-2('s) when you entered your income in Wages and Income.  Pay special attention to what you entered for boxes 16 and 17.
