If I changed jobs several times last year, but filed as single with 0 dependents, why is my refund so much less than normal?

It could be that you didn't have any taxes withheld on your 1099G Unemployment compensation.

Also, if your new job came with a pay increase, you might have moved to a new income tax bracket.

Starting a new job is the perfect time to review your W-4 and adjust your withholdings.
