Question

If I did not itemize do I really need to do the deluxe option. Also as I was finishing up it said something about I only had to do standard. What does that mean?

TurbotTaxDeluxe has a few more features that many customers use even though they do not itemize.  Many use it because it allows a free state download.

When the software said you "only had to do standard," this is referring to your deductions.  Apparently, it determined you can use the standard deduction and do not have the necessary expenses to itemize.
