Solved

If I did not work for my past employer at all in 2016 I will not get a W2 from them and I do not have to file correct? I started with my new employer 12/30/2016.

If you did not work for an employer at all in 2016 they will not send you a W-2. That means that when you file your tax return for 2016 you do not need to report that employer at all on the return.
