A 2023 return cannot be prepared in Online TurboTax, which is only for 2024. You would need to purchase 2023 desktop software to install on your computer (see link below). A 2023 return cannot be efiled with TurboTax; it has to be printed, dated, signed, and mailed.

If you had already started a 2023 online return last year and want to continue it in the desktop software, we can tell you how to download your *.tax2023 data file to open in the desktop software. Or did you completely finish preparing a 2023 online last year and just need to file it?
