Question

If I e-file a 1099 NEC through Turbotax, do I need to send any paper forms to the IRS or the worker I hired?

Did you use the QEF Quick Employer Forms?  If you efiled you don't need to send anything to the IRS.  You do need to print out the forms to give the worker you paid.

Found the post I wanted to give you about printing.  Here's a post about printing from QEF

thanks!  None of the forms that print out seem to be intended for the recipient.  There is copy 1 (for state taxes) and the 1096.  Is there another form that should have printed?

Yes, there should be a copy B for the recipient however you can simply duplicate the copy 1 and provide it to them. The IRS has the information and your recipient needs to report the same amount and have a copy for their file.  The recipient does not send any copy to the IRS or the state.
