If I already did the w2 and have self-employed for lyft and uber where do I put the Ride earnings on the tax line and the no-ride earnings?

In TurboTax Self-Employed:

  • Click the "Federal" tab on the left,
  • Click "Income & Expenses" at the top,
  • Click "Self-Employment" under "All Income,"
  • Answer "Yes" to  "Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?"
  • Continue to answer the interview questions, and TurboTax will give you the opportunity to either enter your income manually, or import your 1099-MISC from Uber and Lyft.

Schedule C, which will be sent to the IRS to report your self-employment income and expenses, has two places to enter income -- line 1 and line 6.  Line 1 is most appropriate for your ride earnings; no-ride earnings can really go on either line.  It doesn't matter, as long as all income is reported.
