If I have been divorced for 10 years, does the IRS consider me 'Divorced' or 'Single'?

For tax purposes, you are unmarried. You must file as Single or Head of Household (if you qualify).

If you pick Divorced it will still put Single on your tax return.

The program asked for your marital status which is divorced however you're filing status will be either single or head of household. By answering divorced it will ask more questions to determine if you will file single or head of household.
