If I worked for publix, how do I find out if I have been paying towards the declared natural disaster if I dont have access to my pay stubs anymore?

If you have no backup, the conservative answer is that you should not claim a charitable deduction if you are not sure you actually made the deduction.

 

However, you may not need to enter your deductions as you will take the higher of your itemized deductions or standard deduction.  The standard deductions for 2019 are :

 

Filing status  

  

Single         Standard Deduction is $12,200 

Married filing joint        Standard Deduction is $24,400 

Married filing separately  Standard Deduction is $12,200 

Head of Household         Standard Deduction is $18,350 

  

There is an additional standard deduction for aged or blind - $1.300 

 

If your state allows itemized deductions, you should enter your itemized deductions if they will make a difference to your state tax liability.
