Question

If it says owed at the end of everything, does that mean I’m not getting a refund? How do I know if I’m getting a refund?

Taxes owed means you have to pay the taxes owed.  You are not getting a tax refund.

Refund = money you  get back

Tax Due = money you owe and need to pay by April 15, 2024

Look at your Form 1040.

If there is an amount on line 35a you are getting a refund

If there is an amount on line 37 you owe and are not getting a refund

It cannot be both.

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.
