Question

If it says ready to mail does that mean the return wasn’t filed yet?

Yes, that's right, it is not filed yet. Ready to Mail means that your return is finished and ready for you to print and mail it.

If you intended to e-file your tax return, you will need to log back into your account and try to change that.

Your tax return may contain an error that is preventing you from e-filing, or you may have a form that is not yet approved for e-file

This is how to change it in Turbo Tax Online:

  1. Sign in to your Turbo Tax account.
  2. Scroll down to Your tax return & documents, click Show on the right.
  3. Select 2019 and then click Add a state.
  4. Select Review from the menu on the left side.
  5. If any errors are shown, you will need to correct them.
  6. Continue into the File section.
  7. Keep going until you get to, Let's get ready to file, select I want to e-file.
  8. Continue until your return is transmitted.

If you get an error message you don't understand, post your error message in Community and we will help you. If it is related to your state return, be sure to mention the name of your state.
