If my adult son has been incarcerated for the year can I still claim him as a dependent?

I send him 200 per month and 275 per month for his phone account.

No.   Sorry---but he is being supported by the department of corrections.  Any money you are sending or giving to him is a gift.  Gifts are not deductible.  You cannot claim him as a dependent.  The amount you are spending is very definitely not over half of his support.  But---sorry--this must be very sad.
