If my boyfriend has lived with me this year and my salary covers more than half of our living expenses, can i claim head of house hold?

No you cannot. Your BF is not a qualified dependent for HOH for you. Only a blood-related dependent can qualify you to file as HOH. If he had less than $4200 of income you may be able to claim him as a dependent and get the $500 credit but that is all.
