If my dependent received an ip pin do I put that instead of their social security number?

No you need their ss num and their ip pin.

I haven't found a separate place to enter the ip pin.

To enter your IRS PIN number in TurboTax, please follow these steps:

 

  1. In TurboTax Online, open your tax return
  2. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Wages & Income
  3. Follow the questionnaire until you arrive at the questionDid you experience identity theft and receive an Identity Protection Pin (IP PIN) from the IRS?
  4. Reply  Yes
  5. On the next page, scroll down to Other Return Info and click Show More
  6. Click Start on Identity Protection PIN
