If one of my dependents filed his own taxes but only made $2,256 can I still claim him as a dependent

my dependent didn't know to Mark the box that says somebody else can claim me but used the same address we live in is that a problem

First he has to qualify as your dependent,

and 2nd he will have to file an Amended return to say that "Someone else is claiming him"

Your e-file will be rejected until the amended return gets processed, so you need him to do that, as it can take 8 weeks for an Amended return to be processed.

You should file by mail if gets close to April 15ht and the IRS has not processed the amended return.

TurboTax process for amending returns is waiting for IRS to approve the 1040X and is expected to be ready approx Mid February.
