Question

If the irs is already accepting returns why is turbo tax saying the forms are not ready yet?

There are a couple of reasons you may get the message "forms are not ready". 

First, states release their final forms often times after Federal. 

Second, not all IRS forms are available. TurboTax will update the program as soon as forms are available. When forms show available you should revisit that section of your return to assure it updates correctly according to your situation, as tax laws may cause some differences.
