Box d on W2?  

W2 box d Control number is not needed.  See

The control number in box d is not required by the IRS - it is used by your employer.  As a result, if it causing you trouble, just delete it.  If it is not causing you trouble, then leave it in - it won't matter.

THE SYSTEM STILL REQUIRED A NUMBER, COULD NOT LET ME CONTINUING THE REST OF QUESTIONS.

This thread is talking about Box d (d) on a W-2 which might report a control number. 

A control number is not needed by tax Software, and not needed by the IRS. 

 

If you mean EIN Number, that is in Box B (b) which is located on the W-2 ABOVE the name of the employer. 

 

If you are asking about something else, continue with this question or start a new question
