If you make roughly 14,000 a year and have no dependents and are single what should you get back?

The first $13,800 of income is not taxable for income tax purposes, as noted in ee-ea's earlier reply.

  • If you have a small amount above that it will be taxed at 10%.
  • If you only have one source of income, you should look at your W-2.
    • Box 2 is your income tax withholding.
      • You should be getting most, if not all of that back.
    • Boxes 4 and 6 are for Social Security and Medicare.
      • You will not be getting any of that back.
