Solved

Illinois 1040 line 10a is supposed to be the number of exemptions on the federal return, but it does not populate. How can I prompt it to fill this in?

Starting this year, tax year 2017, Illinois does not allow you to claim the Standard Exemption Allowance if your federal adjusted gross income is above certain limits. If your federal adjusted gross income exceeds $250,000 (or $500,000 if your are married filing a joint return) you cannot claim the exemption allowance (line 10) on your Illinois tax return.

wow - was just doing TTax and stumbled across this weirdness..... so came here and did a search.
Happen to sell stocks - so really bumped up AGI for 2024 -  too bad there is no message, text, or indication of the Illinois limit vs Illinois exemptions on their state return in TTax.

Also have an issue with the Property Tax on line 4g vs line 5 not getting carried over -

maybe same limitation....

anyway - from 2024 - thanks for posting the reply back a few years -
