Incorrect 1099 info

Got a distribution from an annuity after the death of a relative.  We had the check mailed to a California address where we were vacationing even though they had our Missouri address.  The 1099-R has the California address and the State/Payer's state number is a CA number.  Multiple phone calls requesting a corrected 1099-R have been made in Feb and early Mar.  I was assured the corrected one would be sent in 5 to 7 business days but no luck.  I can change the address in TurboTax but don't know the MO number for the payer.  They would not give me that info over the phone.  Advice?

You don't need to file a California return since you didn't live there and the income did not come from there.

You can leave the California information off of the 1099-R entry in TurboTax, as it only applies if your were filing a California tax return. You can also leave the Missouri information off since you don't have an ID number. It should still show as income on your Missouri tax return if it is taxable, from the entry you made on your federal return, but you can look at the tax summary while working online in TurboTax to make sure. If it shows on the state tax summary, then you can file as is. If not, then you may need to wait until you get the corrected 1099 form.

While working on your tax return in TurboTax:

    1. Click on the Tax Tools menu option on your left menu bar
    2. Click on Tools
    3. Choose the View Tax Summary option

To see a summary of your state tax return, make sure you are in the state section when you follow the steps

If California taxes were withheld, you'll need to file a nonresident California tax return to obtain a refund.
