Incorrect Employer Identification Number

I filed my taxes last night. This morning my employer told the staff that he had provided the incorrect EIN in box "b" is incorrect. Will my return be kicked back for correction or would it still be possible to correct it? Thank you

Yes, it will be rejected if the EIN on the W2 doesn't match what's in the IRS' system for that business. Rejections tend to be fast- within the next 2 hours or less.

Once it rejects, you can go back in and change it.

If it gets Accepted for some reason, than you don't need to do anything else.
