Incorrect transfer of Line 19 of tax payments worksheet to Line 6 of 2210

Hello,

I'm not sure what to do or if this is a bug. I'm scared of using the override function in case I'm doing something wrong here. For reference I am using Turbotax Deluxe desktop edition.

Based on double-checking my W2s and other forms, I withheld a total of $52539 of federal taxes. This is correctly listed on Line 19 of the Tax Payments worksheet. (See screenshot).

This is not correctly transferring to Line 6 of 2210. Is this a bug? What do I do? I'm scared to use the override function in case I'm doing something wrong.

Kesha, that you so much for offering to help!

My token is 201392041-77783213.

my state return is for Maryland.

The difference between your withholding and what's showing on your Form 2210 is excess Social Security tax. Either you or your spouse paid too much into Social Security. This usually happens because you have more than one job and your combined income is over the Social Security tax wage cap. Each employer is required to withhold tax up to the wage cap, so when you file your return you get a refund of any excess.

You can see this amount on Form 1040, Schedule 3, line 12. You don't need to override this line as this credit is correctly being treated as a withholding payment.

have you tried restarting turbotax to see if that cleans it up (and also install latest updates while doing that)

Yes. I also started a new return completely and reentered all of my forms. and the bug persists.

it works fine just putting with a simple W2 - but I'm on Premier not Deluxe - maybe something in your W2 or 1099-R is triggering the issue especially if you were able to recreate it; is there anything in those forms that would correspond to the $479 difference (be cautious posting more screenshots here tho).

Sorry I can't help further .. if you don't get a response/solution here, or either way instead of waiting, suggest calling TT support to ensure you get some focused help as this forum is really best-efforts discussion/help type of thing
