Turbo Tax informed that I can't use my Fed refund and e-file for state, so I changed the option to pay with credit card, but the fee is still there. I have logged in and out 2x, it's still there.

I joined a my company few years ago. I signed up for companies 401 k. capmany added the money to it's 401k plan. after six months i became unionized, the Union has a 401 k plan. as per union rules comapny started diverting my 401 k mony to 401 k of Union. i kept companies 401 k. ( which has my intial sixmonthof contribition).   i am turning 73 next year.  i will still be working. do both the companies 401k and union 401 k qualify for NOT TAKLING RMD OUT , while working.

I am here in US since yearly 2020, I used to be on F1 visa and my wife joined me on 2021 on F2 visa.as a a student we cannot claim dependent for the first 5 years so I was filling taxes as single til last year.my wife got here GC and SSN last year, can I amend the prev year taxes to change the status to married file jointly!?and if yes how many years I can go back!

My wife and I bought a property in 2020 and assigned it to our LLC for nightly rental.  We have completed 1065's every year, including this year for 2024 taxes.  We sold the property after filing this year.  Should we refile this year or wait until the end of this year and file with our 2025 taxes?Thanks for reviewing.

Hello! My wife and I both work full time in education at local school districts, and I work as an adjunct instructor at a college on the side. Our school district pay is predictable and mostly stable, with a few small "bonuses" from time to time. My adjunct work, however, varies from semester to semester and can be anything from an extra month's worth of pay to almost 10k per semester. The adjunct work does not withhold for federal taxes, but does deduct for social security, medicare, and TRS (Texas teacher pension). Should I be making quarterly tax payments, or withhold from my paychecks to avoid owing taxes due to my adjunct income? Which job should I withhold from? Obviously this is a broad question, but any guidance is appreciated! 🙂

My severance payment from my previous employer will not withhold enough federal tax for 2025.  Do I need to make estimated tax payments before April 2026?
