IRS hold due to child support debt which is my spouse's debt not mine
How do i get my refund i was told i need to get the hold lifted because its not my debt
You can file an injured spouse form to protect the part of the refund that can be attributed to your earnings. If you are in a community property state it is tricky. If you already e-filed---and it sounds like you did--- then you can mail in the injured spouse form. Expect it to take several months to be processed.
